The Angelwood Adult Day Training program . . .

. . . is designed to provide individuals with developmental disabilities a creative and meaningful place to spend their day after graduation from high school. The curriculum is arts- based and also builds on work-related skills that translate into the business world. The goal is that the program participants are provided a variety of ways to develop skills that will help them gain greater independence in hopes of one day finding a job in the mainstream workplace.

Some of the activities enjoyed by our ADT participants:

  • Producing original works of art as well as handmade soaps, bath salts, scarves, beaded jewelry, and note cards. Items may be purchased at area craft shows, gift stores and other venues such as the Angelwood Fashion Walk each fall. Sales provide a pay check for the artists.
  • Doing business in the community through servicing vending machines located in local businesses. Participants learn important skills such as stocking inventory and counting money.
  • Shredding office papers, learning cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Guest artists from the community teaching them new mediums of art to expand their creativity and fine motor skills.
